The Heart of America Fastpitch League (HFL)<\/a> is excited to spotlight Sydney Lewis as the September Junior Player of the Month.\u00a0Lewis is an infielder\/outfielder on Aces Fastpitch \u201909 National.<\/p>\n

Lewis posted an impressive .562 batting average, .579 OPB, 1.423 OPS and a slugging percentage of .812. The 2027 racked up 5 singles, 4 doubles, 2 RBIs and 3 stolen bases in the month of September.<\/p>\n

\u201cSydney is a kid that brings value to multiple positions on the field,\u201d head coach Joel Garcia said. \u201cSyd can hit for power, lay down a bunt, along with great speed. 100% team kid who\u2019s been with us since we started this team 3 years ago. Looking forward to watching this young lady play the game for years to come!\u201d<\/p>\n

Like many softball players, Sydney has been involved in softball since she was five years old. \u201cI started softball when my mom and dad signed me up for a team called the Batgirls at age 5,\u201d she said. \u201cI then moved to travel ball at age 8. I tried out for the Aces at age 10. I was so excited whenever my mom told me I was accepted into the organization of the Aces. I have learned a lot about the game of softball with Coach Joel. For fun I like to swim, go to the lake, be with my family, hang out with friends, and take my dogs on walks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sydney\u2019s favorite softball memory is her first diving play in center field against the St. Louis Chaos. Sydney hopes to one day play at Florida State or OSU.<\/p>\n

From all of us at the\u00a0Alliance<\/a>\u00a0and the HFL, congratulations to\u00a0Sydney Lewis for her achievements.<\/p>\n

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League\u2019s Player of the Month.<\/p>\n

Following the announcement of each League\u2019s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.<\/p>\n

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League\u2019s monthly report.<\/p>\n
