The Northwest Fastpitch League (NWFL) is excited to spotlight Shelby Southard as the March Player of the Month.\u00a0Southard is a 2nd<\/sup> baseman and outfielder for ai Bandits Breer 14u.<\/p>\n

The 2026 had an impressive stat line for the month of March. Southard went 9 for 12 with 6 doubles, 2 triples, 5 RBIS and 7 runs scored.<\/p>\n

\u201cShelby has a true competitive spirit and expects success when she steps on the field,\u201d said coach Breer. \u201cEvery rep and opportunity is meaningful to Shelby. She has a work ethic and love of softball that has her picking up a ball, glove and bat outside of her teams scheduled practices and games. As her coach, I am most excited about her evolving approach to the game. She is quickly beginning to realize it is possible to have fun without losing your competitive edge.\u201d<\/p>\n

Southard fell in love with the game at an early age. \u201cI fell in love with the game as a toddler and have played the game ever since,\u201d she said. \u201cOne of my favorite softball memories is getting to play on the game field as the college world series!\u201d<\/p>\n

From all of us at the Alliance<\/a>\u00a0and the NWFL, congratulations to\u00a0Shelby Southard for her achievements.<\/p>\n

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League\u2019s Player of the Month.<\/p>\n

Following the announcement of each League\u2019s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.<\/p>\n

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League\u2019s monthly report.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
