WHAT IS THE ALLIANCE FASTPITCH STARS OF TOMORROW SERIES?

The Alliance Fastpitch Stars of Tomorrow Series is a data-driven player identification and development program for current freshmen, sophomores and juniors. The Stars of Tomorrow Series consists of Player ID Camps hosted across the country and an end of season Stars of Tomorrow Games featuring the top 60 players in each grad class. 

The Alliance Fastpitch is committed to player development and providing our athletes with access to the top resources in the sport. The Stars of Tomorrow ID Camps introduce the most intuitive in-game data capture, ball flight data, and cognitive assessments in the game. The same data colleges are getting on their athletes!

Stars of Tomorrow Player ID Camps

Player ID Camps provide high school aged athletes with instruction, scout evaluation, data, and metrics. Camps are hosted on college campuses and neutral facilities across the country. Camps are staffed with scouts (non-coaches) who have professional scouting experience and/or professional and college coaching and playing experience. 

Athletes must be registered Alliance Members for the current season to participate in a camp. Athletes can register with the Alliance as a Free Agent if their team is not a member of an Alliance League. To register with the Alliance Fastpitch click here.

What do athletes receive at every camp? 

• AnalyzR Report by Softball Cloud. Athletes will be emailed an AnalyzR Report within 72 hours of the camp. This PDF report features all of your data collected at the camp. There is also a comparison of the camp averages in your grad class. Athletes can share this report with their coaches and college coaches. 

• Scouting Report. Athletes will be emailed a Scouting Report PDF within three weeks of the camp. This report is produced by our scouts on site and includes a written evaluation of your camp performance and highlights areas of strengths and opportunities. Athletes can share this report with their coaches and college coaches. 

• Training Programs. Our partners Vizual Edge and S2 Cognition will send individualized training programs at a discounted offer following camps. Programs are based off athlete scores. 

• Leaderboards. After each camp, we will post leaderboards for each grad class and a national leaderboard after all camps have been completed.

• Eligibility for Stars of Tomorrow Games. ID Camps serve as qualifiers to the Stars of Tomorrow Top 60 Games. Athletes must attend a Player ID Camp to be eligible for the Stars of Tomorrow Games.

What data is collected at every camp?

• Athletic measurements.

  • 10/20 yard dash
  • 5x10x5 agility shuttle
  • Broad jump
  • Grip strength 
  • Overhand velocity 

• Cognitive assessment by S2 Cognition
• Visual assessment by Vizual Edge. 
• Hitting ball flight data by Yakkertech
• Pitching ball flight data by Rapsodo 

The data collected at our Stars of Tomorrow Player ID camps provides a baseline for athletes to help with their development and recruiting. The data collected will also better inform college coaches in their recruiting evaluations. Athletes can choose to share their data and scouting reports with college coaches. 

What will athletes be evaluated on by scouts? 

Scouts will rate athletes on a 1-5 player evaluation scale. Athletes will be evaluated on a five tool assessment based on their primary defensive position and hitting. 

Camp Format

Check in will begin one hour before the camp start time. Athletes will receive a combine jersey with their scout number and take a headshot at check in.

Athletes will rotate through the following stations during the camp. Rotations are based on primary position and grad year. 

• Athletic Measurements 
• Defense (measured at primary positions) 
• Pitching (pitchers and catchers) 
• Hitting
• S2 Cognition Assessment (taken on a tablet or Xbox) 
• Vizual Edge vision assessment (taken on a Surface Pro)
