The Texas Fastpitch League (TFL<\/a>) is excited to spotlight Townsen Thomas as the July player of the month.\u00a0Thomas is an outfielder on\u00a0Texas Blaze United 16U.<\/p>\n

In July, she recorded a .562 batting average and racked up 51 stolen bases.<\/p>\n

\u201cTownsen has more natural athletic ability than any player I\u2019ve ever coached, and she works constantly to improve her game,\u201d her coach said. \u201cShe\u2019s coachable, a good teammate, and, even with her success, remains humble. Townsen has dreams of making it to the USA National team one day, and I have no doubt she will!\u201d<\/p>\n

My favorite softball memory is when we went to PGF second year 10U with intensity and placed 2nd<\/sup>,\u201d she said. \u201cI got started with softball when I got a toy where I could hit the ball off of the tee and it would come back, one Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n

Townsen doesn\u2019t just excel on the field. The Texan is a multi-sport athlete participating in basketball and track. In 2019, Townsen was ranked 5th<\/sup> in the triple jump and 9th<\/sup> in the 100-meter hurdles nationally.<\/p>\n

From all of us at the\u00a0Alliance<\/a>\u00a0and the TFL, congratulations to\u00a0Townsen Thomas\u00a0for her achievements.<\/p>\n

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League\u2019s Player of the Month.<\/p>\n

Following the announcement of each League\u2019s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.<\/p>\n
