Her performance at the plate was also strong, as Erika batted .533 with 7 runs batted in this month.
Erika Summit, a passionate and skilled softball player, was introduced to the sport by parents who had deep roots in its culture. From her very first game, Erika fell in love with softball, finding joy in making her parents proud, creating enduring memories, and forming lasting friendships that have become a key part of her life. For Erika, the sport serves as an escape, a place where she can truly be herself, surrounded by a supportive community that never gives up on her.
A defining moment in Erika’s softball journey unfolded during a game in Colorado last summer. With her team trailing by two runs, Erika stepped up to the plate and delivered a game-changing home run to left-center, tying the score. The electric energy that surged through her team, from teammates on the field to parents in the stands, encapsulated the thrill and teamwork that make softball a truly special experience.
In her formative years, Erika looked up to Paige Parker, the accomplished left-handed pitcher from the University of Oklahoma. Parker’s skill and influence left a lasting impression on Erika, shaping her aspirations in the sport.
Beyond the softball field, Erika enjoys spending time with friends and watching other sports, particularly football and basketball. Embracing a well-rounded lifestyle, she finds joy in the company of others and the excitement of cheering on different teams.
Turning to her academic goals, Erika aims high, aspiring to achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Her commitment extends beyond the classroom, with a parallel focus on building both her physical strength and intellectual capacity. Erika’s holistic approach to personal growth reflects a desire to excel not only in softball but also in her academic pursuits.
What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
