Alexis Lorennij Named HFL Player of the Month for November

BY Jess Caron

The Alliance Fastpitch is honored to recognize Alexis Lorennij (2027) from the Heart of America Fastpitch League (HFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable November performance. Alexis is a catcher and third baseman for Vision Gold 09. Her consistency at the plate was outstanding, batting 0.516 in 31 at-bats with 11 runs batted in, 11 singles, 2 doubles, and 3 triples.

Alexis Lorennij embarked on her softball journey at age 5, starting with T-ball before delving into machine pitch at 6. What began as a casual exploration quickly transformed into a passion for softball, evolving into an escape where she could push herself both physically and mentally. The allure of each game, the thrill of competition, and the sense of unity within the team captivated Alexis, leading to a deep love for the sport. With each inning, she discovered more about herself, building resilience, learning to navigate the highs and lows, and forming bonds that would last a lifetime.

Among Alexis’s cherished softball memories is a season she affectionately refers to as her “slump” season. Despite her dedicated efforts, success seemed elusive, prompting a heartfelt conversation with her hitting coach. During this pivotal moment, her coach imparted valuable life lessons about handling failures and maintaining confidence, wisdom that Alexis carries with her to this day as a source of strength during challenging times.

One of Alexis’s softball role models is Linnie Malkin, a standout player for Razorback Softball. Alexis fondly recalls watching Malkin’s powerful hits at Bogle Park and, over time, had the privilege of working with and learning from her. Malkin’s prowess on the field and shared experiences have solidified her status as one of Alexis’s favorite players.

Beyond the softball diamond, Alexis finds joy in spending time with her family and friends, enriching her life off the field with meaningful connections.

Setting ambitious goals, Alexis aims to continue her softball journey at the collegiate level, harboring dreams of donning a college uniform. Off the field, her aspirations extend to academic excellence, driven by the goal of earning scholarships through hard work and dedication in her studies.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
