Keyanna Reeves named RMFL Jr. Player of the Month for July

The Rocky Mountain Fastpitch League (RMFL) is excited to spotlight Keyanna Reeves as the July Jr. Player of the Month. Reeves is a third baseman and utility player for Firecrackers Gale.

Reeves proved her skills at the dish in July going 15 for 32, a .469 batting average with 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored. Reeves was also named as an AFCS All-Tournament Team member and was marked as the 14^th ranked player at AFCS in batting average. Reeves went 7-for-12 at AFCS and batted a .583 batting average and played excellent defense with 10 assists at third base.

Softball Story (How did you get started?)  Tell us about you-
I grew up at the softball fields!! I started playing Rec ball when I was 5 years old with my older cousin. At the age of 7 I moved up to comp ball.  I played catcher every game for the first three years.  I loved playing catcher but wanted to try other positions. After playing the last year with Coach Gale I found my spot playing the corners and now know why I enjoy the game of softball. I’ve found a love of leading my teammates to success and having fun on the Ball fields.

Favorite Softball memory-
My favorite memory is this last year when we went to nationals in OKC.  My team came out to play and made it to the top 8. I was nervous at first but knew I just needed to put my heart on the field and have fun. It was a new experience not having my parents there the whole time but made me grow and know I have my softball family. I think the team bonding, making hats, team parade and getting to know each other more than we already do was a great experience for me at this age.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
