Raegan Sucher named TFL Player of the Month for June

The Texas Fastpitch League (TFL) is excited to spotlight Raegan Sucher as the June Player of the Month. Sucher is a pitcher for Texas Fusion Gold 18u.

Sucher had an excellent performance in the circle ending the month of June with 45 strikeouts. Sucher maintained a 1.53 ERA and an impressive .79 WHP.

Softball Story (How did you get started?) Tell us about you-
When I first started, I was on an all-boys TBall team. It taught me to work harder than those around me if I wanted to be respected by my peers. So, every night my dad and I would go upstairs and hit with a foam ball and bat. Over time, I earned all their respect, and I still carry that mentality with me today. I have put in countless hours of hard work to be where I am right now, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Favorite Softball memory-
My favorite softball memory would have to be the second playoff game against Prosper High School this past spring. We were the underdogs, and the first game we caused an upset by run ruling them. Just walking up to the second game, we could all tell they were ready for revenge. The first inning started and Prosper loaded the bases right out of the gate, with no outs, and I went in as relief. The energy was unreal. Every inning was a fight. In the second to last inning, we went ahead by one run. Going back out to finish the game was the most thrilling moment of my life. The stands were yelling and stomping. It felt like our own Super Bowl and we ended up winning. This became the first time ever in our school’s history that we have ever beat Prosper and knocked them out of the playoffs. I’ve never felt a rush quite like it.

Coaches Feedback-
Player of the month is a well-deserved award for Raegen.  She has a strong work ethic and never gives up. Raegen might be small in stature but very big in heart and drive. She is a team player and never hesitates to cheer on her teammates and thank them for having her back. She is a fierce competitor but is soft-spoken and has a great sense of humor. She is an awesome teammate. Whichever college/university snags Raegen is getting a gem.

Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
