BY Jess Caron

The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Gabby Bright (2029) from the Texas Fastpitch League (TFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable play in May 2024. Gabby Bright, a versatile player for Texas Glory RWB 12U, excels in multiple positions—1B, P.

Gabby Bright’s softball journey begins at age 8 when she first takes to the field. Initially joining the team as a pitcher because she thinks it will be easy, Gabby soon falls in love with the game and the challenges it presents. Her dedication to the sport and her love for her teammates fuel her growth and success. Recently, Gabby earns a national ranking of #26 softball player and #6 pitcher for the class of 2029, according to Line Drive Media.

One of Gabby’s cherished memories is striking out the final batter with the bases loaded and a 3-2 score to win her first 12U championship game, where she also receives the MVP award.

Her favorite player is Emiley Kennedy. Outside of softball, Gabby enjoys swimming at her grandmother’s house with her family.

Gabby’s current goals include continuing her personal growth, reaching a top pitching speed of 65 mph by the end of the softball season, and bringing home a championship win for Fort Worth Christian when she starts high school. She also dreams of playing softball for Texas A&M.

The Alliance Fastpitch commends Gabby for her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, highlighting her exceptional contributions to the sport and her dedication to personal and athletic development.

Coach Bill Wark describes Gabby as an outstanding young player whose pitching skills set her apart in the 12U division. Her exceptional ability on the mound, coupled with her powerful swing and keen eye at the plate, make her a significant asset to her team. Off the field, Gabby balances her rigorous training with academic excellence, demonstrating remarkable discipline and time management. Coach Wark’s favorite memory of Gabby is from when she tried out for the team a few years ago. Despite coming from a recreational league, Gabby’s hard work and dedication quickly propel her from the number four pitcher to the top pitcher in the team and the DFW area. Her enthusiasm, positive attitude, and ability to form strong bonds with her teammates make a lasting impression, showcasing her as not just a talented player but also a great teammate.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
