The Texas Fastpitch League (TFL) is excited to spotlight Mia Rincon as the November Senior Player of the Month. Rincon is an infielder and outfielder for Texas Bombers CTX 16U Gold Ward.

Rincon had a great month at the dish. The 2024 posted a .667 batting average with a 1.9555 OPS and 1.267 slugging percentage. She also racked up 9 RBIs with 6 singles, 2 doubles, 1 triple and 2 homeruns.

Tell us a bit about your softball story! How’d you get started in the sport?

When I was 5 years old I was trying out all the different sports. My cousin and uncle got me involved in softball at my local rec ball league and I have loved the game ever since.

What has been your favorite softball memory?

My favorite softball memory was in 3rd grade after I came back from an injury.  I fractured my knee and was in a full leg cast for 6 weeks and in my first game back which happened to be my first kid pitch game, I hit an out of the park home run.

Who is your favorite softball player?

Jocelyn Alo

What do you like to do outside of softball?

I enjoy playing volleyball and spending time with my family.

What are some of your current goals – both on and off the field? (Softball, school, other athletics, related, etc. all welcomed!)

One of my goals is to play college softball.  I also hope to break my season record of home runs this summer.  Lastly, I hope to do well academically so that I can earn scholarship opportunities for college.

Coach Feedback

Tell us a bit about your athlete? As a player, person, etc.

Mia is a big bat in the middle of our lineup, she doesn’t just hit for power but for an high average as well Mia is an incredibly coachable player and is always asking what she can work on to improve from at bat to at bat. She’s an amazing team mate and always supportive of everyone on the team. As incredible she is on the softball field she is just as incredible off the softball field, she is an multi-sport athlete, active in student council and other school activities.

It has been amazing to watch her grow as an athlete and person this last year and I’m excited to continue see her continue to grow and excel as a softball player and person!

Do you have a favorite memory or moment of this athlete?

Mia has had lots of big moments this fall season but my favorite came at the TFL Fall Championship tournament. Mia came up to bat in a tight game with the bases loaded and the opposing team changed pitchers, told her to find her pitch early and she did just that. First pitch she saw she jumped on and hit an no doubt BLAST over the right field fence (fence was 225) for a grand slam!!! She went on to hit 4 HRs that weekend all on 225 fence fields!

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
