RYLEE BLACK NAMED HFL JUNIOR PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR FEBRUARY

BYJess Caron

As part of the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program, we are pleased to announce the Heart of America Fastpitch League (HFL) pitcher and first baseman, Rylee Black of Oklahoma Athletics 2010-Madden 12U as the Junior Player of the Month.

This fall Black played an important role on the mound. The 2029 only allowed 6 hits and racked up 27 strikeouts!

Tell us a bit about your softball story! How’d you get started in the sport?

I started playing softball at 5 years old and then a couple of years later I began playing competitively. I loved playing but when I got the opportunity to pitch in 10U, I fell in love with the position and the game even more.

What has been your favorite softball memory?

I have 2 favorite softball memories. The first memory is when our team went 3 extra innings against LT Gold 09 in our last fall game of 11U. The game went back and forth every inning and we fought hard the entire game but came up short in the bottom of the 7th. It was the most exciting game I have pitched.
My second memory is when my coaches and team voted me as MVP in the Alliance National Tournament last summer.

Who is your favorite softball player?

Jordy Bahl

What do you like to do outside of softball?

I like to play basketball, hang out with my teammates, and school friends, swim and play with my little brother and little sister

What are some of your current goals – both on and off the field? (Softball, school, other athletics, related, etc. all welcomed!)

A few of my goals are to maintain straight A’s all through school, and to be valedictorian in high school. My softball goals are to get a college scholarship to play softball and to hit 60 mph in pitching before I start school ball in the fall. I would also like to win a national tournament with my softball team.

Coaches Feedback (Mike madden)

Tell us a bit about your athlete? As a player, person, etc.

Good hitter, Great pitcher, and outstanding student. Great kid.

Do you have a favorite memory or moment of this athlete?

Just the everyday. Funny and fun to be around.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
