Alawna Busby Named CFL Player of the Month for March

BYJess Caron

The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Alawna Busby (2030) from the Central Fastpitch League (CFL) as Player of the Month for her outstanding performance in March 2024. Busby plays for Oklahoma Athletics Madden/Davis 12u and excels in her primary position as a catcher. In March, she boasted a .474 batting average along with a .600 on-base percentage, contributing 7 singles, 3 triples, and 8 RBIs.

Alawna’s journey in softball starts at the age of five. She falls in love with the sport after watching her two older sisters play, inspired by their skill and passion. A memorable moment for Alawna is her participation in the 12u Nationals in Gulf Shores when she is just nine years old. Playing alongside her dad and older sister, she throws out a runner trying to steal second base while catching and helps her team secure a second-place finish.

Her favorite player is OU catcher Kinzie Hansen, but outside of softball, Alawna enjoys playing outside. Her goals include becoming one of the best catchers in her age group and attending a good college to pursue a career in cosmetology or entrepreneurship.

The Alliance Fastpitch commends Alawna Busby for her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her exceptional contributions to the sport and dedication to her personal and athletic growth.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
