The spotlight shines on Mia Favato (2027) of the Northeast Fastpitch League (NEFL) as she is celebrated as the Player of the Month for her outstanding performance with Lady Dukes NJ Gold 16U Torres/Mchale in the month of January. Mia, a skilled outfielder, showcased remarkable skills that significantly contributed to her team’s success. This month, Favato boasted an extraordinary .800 batting average and an impeccable .800 on-base percentage. Her contributions included 5 RBIs, featuring 4 singles, 3 doubles, and a powerful home run.

Mia’s softball journey began at the tender age of 6, introduced to the game by her mother, a former Division 1 college softball player. Softball runs deep in her family, with her mother even gifting her grandfather a softball bearing Mia’s footprints upon her birth. Despite her grandfather not being able to witness her play, Mia carries his spirit with her to every game. Her father, a constant source of support and motivation, pushes her daily to be the best player she can be, making sacrifices and dedicating time to ensure her success. Mia cherishes every aspect of softball—the training, the travel, the camaraderie with teammates, and the invaluable lessons learned through the years.

A favorite softball memory for Mia includes hitting a two-out, two-run double during an Alliance Nationals game in Indiana, helping secure a 3-0 win and a spot in the elite eight. Another standout moment was winning the 2022 USSSA Eastern National Championship with Lady Dukes 12u Panik.

Mia’s favorite player is Kendra Falby, admiring her well-rounded skills, speed, athleticism, power, and fun personality.

Beyond softball, Mia enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, shopping, baking, and contributing to her younger sister’s softball team, Lady Dukes 10u Plath. She aspires to be a positive role model for all the young Dukes.

Current goals for Mia include maintaining honor roll status at Saint John Vianney High School, having a solid freshman softball season, and helping her travel team maintain its status as a top program. Her dedication extends beyond the field, with aspirations to fulfill her lifelong dream of playing Division 1 softball.

Coaches describe Mia as a hardworking athlete, committed to improving her skills both on the field and in the gym. With remarkable power to all fields, Mia recorded a CSE exit velocity of 78mph at just 13 years old. A standout moment for the coaches was Mia driving in the game-winning run to reach the elite eight at the Alliance Nationals, showcasing her clutch abilities.

Mia Favato’s dedication, skill, and passion for the game make her a deserving recipient of the Player of the Month honor. She continues to inspire with her contributions both on and off the field, embodying the spirit of softball and leaving an indelible mark on the sport.
