As part of the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program, we are excited to honor Rocky Mountain Fastpitch League (RMFL) third baseman, Peyton Gale as the National Player of the Month for her performance in February.

Gale plays on two RMFL teams, Firecrackers Gale-Bricker 18u Gold, and she recently joined the New Mexico Suncats 18u Gold. This is also her 5th year playing at the 18u level.

“This is the first year that I haven’t played with the same girls,” Gale said. “Meeting new players and getting new experiences and everything has been really fun.”

Last week, Gale was named to the 2021 All-American watchlist. She can also play shortstop and in the outfield. At the IPSGA Tune-Up Tournament, Gale played with the Firecrackers and they went 3-2.

With the Suncats at the Heartland Fastpitch League Mid Atlantic Qualifier in February, Gale recorded eight RBIs and an on-base percentage of .333. Gale hit three doubles, one triple, and walked twice. In their five games, the Suncats recorded a 3-2 record and faced two teams that have secured Tier l Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series berths and one team that has secured a Tier ll berth.

Gale will graduate high school this spring and has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Northern Colorado. She will be roommates with current Suncats teammate and soon-to-be Bears shortstop, Jaycie Gandert.

“My goal is to step on the field and prove myself and try to get a starting spot, and then work my way to try to be an All-American,” Gale said.

Her coaches describe her as an extremely hardworking player who has gap-to-gap power at the plate. Gale is also listed in the Extra Innings top 100

“After conversing with the kid, you don’t even have to ask what her GPA is,” Suncats head coach Jonathan Gandeert said. “It’s apparent Peyton is well rounded, genuine, and she loves to compete.”

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Starting this Spring, each League will name a Player of the Month for different age divisions.

Registered Alliance Fastpitch players will be placed in a pool based on verified stats from AthletesGoLive (AGL). AthletesGoLive(AGL) will run monthly reports and submit to the player selection committee for each League.  Additionally, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches will have the opportunity to submit a player for consideration. Committee members will review verified stats and consider coach feedback to name League Players of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so her stats are considered in the monthly reports.
