Q: Tell us a little bit about you and your softball story?
A: I started playing t-ball when I was about 6 years old, at the local Little League. I enjoyed playing so much, I jumped into travel softball at the age of 8 playing for a 10u team. For the last three years I have been a part of the Lady Kingers program, which is based out of Oregon.
Q: What is your favorite softball memory?
A: By far my favorite softball experience was being able to get the chance to play on the USA All American Region 9 team, as well as getting to play on the Women’s College World Series field in Oklahoma City. The organization had two tryouts and from those two tryouts the selection committee chose 15 girls to go to Oklahoma representing Region 9. I was selected to be one of 15 to be fortunate enough to represent the region. I feel very fortunate to be able to have had that experience, it was so much fun! We got to meet a few players from the USA National team, as well as playing on the field!
Mal is the girl that grinds out every at bat, wants extra ground balls and is such a positive influence for our team. She has been voted team captain the last 2 years and is a calming influence on our team. She is a relentless worker that sets the pace for our club defensively and offensively. She wakes up early each morning to do extra Tee Work to continue grow as a player. She gets better every year and know matter the success she stays humble. We are proud to have her on our club.
