In recognition of her outstanding performance and contributions to the game, we are thrilled to announce Makenna Gonzales (2030) from Batbusters GP 2011 as the Player of the Month for her stellar achievements in the Pacific Coast Fastpitch League (PCFL). Makenna, holding the position of third baseman, has demonstrated remarkable skills, boasting a remarkable .632 batting average and a matching .632 on-base percentage. Her impactful performance includes 14 RBIs, 5 singles, 5 doubles, 1 triple, and an impressive home run.
Makenna’s softball journey began in recreational ball at Escondido Girls Softball, where her admiration for her older sister, Madison, who played travel ball, ignited her passion for the sport. Makenna officially started her travel ball career as a 2nd-year player in the 10u category. Her love for the game is deeply rooted in the camaraderie with her teammates and the thrill of competing every weekend.
A standout moment in Makenna’s softball career is marked by the exhilarating experience of hitting her first over-the-fence (OTF) home run at a Triple Crown tournament, a memory that undoubtedly holds a special place in her heart.
Outside of softball, Makenna enjoys spending time with friends and exploring the mall, balancing her athletic pursuits with social activities.
Looking ahead, Makenna has set ambitious goals both on and off the field. On the softball diamond, she aspires to continue her journey and education at Arizona State University, combining her passion for softball and dreams of becoming a doctor.
