The Pacific Coast Fastpitch League (PCFL) is excited to spotlight Avery Stock as the March Spotlight Athlete of the Month. Stock is a 2029 shortstop and catcher on SoCal Connection. Stock hails from Palmdale, California.
In Stock’s last two tournaments played she has a combined batting average of .607 with 17 hits, a .645 OBP, 9 RBIs and 6 runs. The 2029 collected an impressive 6 doubles and a triple.
“Avery “TNT” is the ultimate competitor with unmatched focus to detail” said coach Michael Merrilees. “She anchors the defensive spine by playing SS or C. The pride she has in defense is almost as impressive as her plate dominance. Coachable beyond any stretch of the imagination and a leader on and off the field.”
Avery’s softball story:
When I was 5, I started playing T-Ball in Wichita, Kansas. My family moved to California the next year and I joined the Quartz Hill Little League. I played coach pitch for a year and then Minor’s Softball the next. Ever since I just kept practicing and playing to where I am now with SoCal Connection.
Avery’s favorite softball memory:
My favorite recent game memory was when I hit two doubles in the extra-inning championship game, we just played against Batbusters ET. It was such a fun game. My favorite memory with my SoCal Connection teammates was the birthday surprise they gave me at practice when the whole team shot confetti over my head. I have so much fun with them!
From all of us at the Alliance and the PCFL, congratulations to Avery Stock for her achievements.
