Softball Story (How did you get started?) – Tell us about you:
Maci started playing t-ball when she was 3 and has been obsessed with the game ever since. She went on to play rec fastpitch for El Rio from the ages of 5-8, always playing up a division for the challenge. From there she moved on to 10u travel ball with Coach Godoy. For Maci softball doesn’t stop when practice is over; she’s constantly studying the game, watching college games on YouTube and practicing her slapping technique in her cage.
“Softball is my thang”- Maci
Favorite Softball memory:
“I have so many awesome softball memories. My 8U all-star rec team went 37-0 winning all district, state, and junior Olympic titles. But winning the Platinum PGF title last year was the greatest. Playing in that huge stadium with my team, in front of all those fans, was so scary but also exciting. I got a drag bunt base hit in the ‘Bermuda Triangle’ as the game announcer said.”
Coaches Feedback:
Maci is an athlete who works hard on and off the field. She is softball 24/7 and a true student of the game. Maci’s superpower on the field is her speed and has worked hard on her craft of becoming a true triple threat. Maci can beat you with a bunt, slap or a line drive to the outfield. She is learning to take what the defense gives her when hitting. She is also very aggressive on the bases and always willing to take the extra base. Whether she is playing 2B, SS, or CF she doesn’t miss a beat and uses her speed to cover ground defensively. Maci is a silent killer and she is adored by her teammates and coaches.
What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.
To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
