The Pacific Coast Fastpitch League (PCFL) is excited to spotlight Savanna Herbst as the March Spotlight Athlete of the Month. Herbst is a 2026 center fielder and 2nd baseman on NorCal Legends. Herbst attends Santa Teresa High School and hails from San Jose, CA.
NorCal Legends coach Gil Barrioz describes Herbst as a coachable and reliable athlete. “Savanna has a great attitude and a great mindset for the game of softball,” coach Gil said. “Her strengths are skills in the outfield and playing 2nd base. She’s a great team player with a positive attitude toward her teammates. She’s very coachable and a great asset to my team.”
Savanna’s softball story:
“I started playing softball when I was 10 because my friend was playing on a team and I wanted to play with her. I really enjoyed playing softball and the next season I joined my first travel team. Ever since then, softball has become very important in my life and I’ve been playing ever since.”
Savanna’s favorite softball memory:
My favorite softball memory is after a tournament me, one of my teammates and my sister were all playing around and throwing watermelon at each other. This turned into a huge food right. It was super fun and it’s my favorite softball memory.
From all of us at the Alliance and the PCFL, congratulations to Savanna Herbst for her achievements.
