Kennedy Ushery Named SEFL Player of the Month for June

BY Jess Caron

The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Kennedy Ushery (2026) from the Southeastern Fastpitch League (SEFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable play in June 2024. Kennedy Ushery, a versatile player for Georgia Impact, excels in multiple positions—1B, 3B. Her June stats include a .556 batting average, a .619 OBP, 6 singles, 3 doubles, 1 homerun, and 8 RBIs.

Kennedy Ushery’s softball journey begins when she is four years old, inspired by her dad. She loves playing softball because it reminds her to live one moment at a time and that nothing is given. Softball teaches her from an early age that if you want something, you have to earn it.

A cherished softball memory for Kennedy is the 2023-2024 season. Throughout the entire season, she plays with some of her best friends, which makes her love the game of softball even more. The energy they all bring together is incredible. The laughter, excitement, and great memories she shares with those girls are unforgettable. They make her a better softball player and an even better person.

Kennedy’s favorite player is Brinaya Bailey, who played first base at KSU and has been her coach since 12U, teaching her everything she knows about being a first baseman. Outside of softball, Kennedy enjoys hanging out with her friends, listening to music and podcasts, reading books, going to church, and spending time with her family.

Kennedy’s current goals include committing to play in college, hopefully soon, being invited into the National Honors Society, and winning a state championship for high school. The Alliance Fastpitch commends Kennedy on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.

Kennedy’s coach, Brinaya, describes her as an amazing player and teammate. Kennedy is a leader on the field, communicating with and supporting her team, and always bringing them together, even in tough moments. She is very motivating to her teammates and leads by example, shaking off failures and supporting her team no matter what. Her composure on the field is graceful, and she is dependable in any situation, especially when the game is on the line. Off the field, Kennedy is a light, excelling academically, helping anyone in need, listening well, and volunteering in her community. Brinaya’s favorite memory of Kennedy is from their last game this season. Even though the team was down by a lot, Kennedy keeps everyone up, motivates them, encourages them, and offers suggestions on how they can be better as a team. Her last at-bat in that game, she hit a home run. Despite being down, she never gives up.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
