The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Lila Peters (2029) from the Texas Fastpitch League (TFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable play in April 2024. Lila Peters, a versatile player for 12U Texas Glory RWB, excels in multiple positions—first base, pitcher. Her April stats include a .591 batting average, a .577 OBP, 6 singles, 2 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs and 19 RBIs. Through 24.4 innings pitched, she had 47 strikeouts and a 1.84 ERA.
Lila Peters’ softball journey begins at the age of four when she starts playing t-ball, introduced to the sport by her mom. Falling in love with the game immediately, she never looks back. She loves the bonds built with her teammates, the fun memories made traveling and practicing, and the discipline, sacrifices, and teamwork that softball teaches. These characteristics help her grow both on and off the field. Inspired by her mom, who played at Northwestern State University, Lila starts pitching at ten years old. She loves being in the circle, controlling the pace of the game, and leading on the field.
A cherished memory for Lila is hitting three home runs on her 13th birthday.
Lila’s favorite player is Karlyn Pickens from Tennessee. Outside of softball, she enjoys going to church, playing volleyball, swimming, and hanging out with friends.
Lila’s current goals are to continue getting better every day, win a championship at her high school, and play college softball. The Alliance Fastpitch commends Lila on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.
Lila’s coach, Bill Wark, describes her as a powerhouse on the field, exhibiting exceptional skill in both pitching and hitting. At the plate, she is known for her consistency, combining power and precision to drive runs for the team. Her batting average is impressive, with over five homers this season and many extra-base hits. Off the field, Lila is an exemplary student, dedicated to excellence in everything she undertakes, evident in her academic achievements and involvement in various activities beyond softball.
Bill’s favorite memory is when Lila first started playing for him. From the moment she showed up, he knew he needed her on the team. She brings so much energy that he immediately noticed the positive difference in the dugout.
What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
