October 25, 2022 – Pocket Radar, the industry leader in capturing accurate speed-based metrics accessible to everyone, has entered into a partnership with The Alliance Fastpitch, the fast-growing, national league system unifying the sport of fastpitch softball with a player-first approach to adding membership value, purpose, player recognition and top-level championship play.
Through the partnership, Pocket Radar will work with The Alliance Fastpitch to provide an exclusive discount for the Smart Coach + Training Bundle to Alliance coaches and families on various buy days in addition to adding or supporting various activations and initiatives throughout the year. The first Alliance Member buy day will kick off on October 27th in conjunction with the Alliance Fastpitch’s 2nd annual Throw Like a Girl Day. Both organizations will also be producing a joint Educational Session at the 2022 National Fastpitch Coaches Association annual convention.
“We are excited to work with Pocket Radar to support our vision of assisting athletes and coaches on their player development journey,” said Jami Lobpries, Alliance Fastpitch CEO. “This partnership will provide equal access to their technology for our coaches and family members, and we look forward to working together on various initiatives throughout the year and appreciate the belief Pocket Radar has in the Alliance.”
Pocket Radar’s technology is currently utilized by coaches at the highest levels of softball, and by parents and players training in their backyards. Providing software and hardware solutions tailored for player development and recruiting, Pocket Radar’s new app platform is a powerful tool for athletes looking to improve their game and have their metrics be seen by coaches across the country.
“We couldn’t be happier to join forces with a trusted and forward-thinking organization like The Alliance,” said Taylor Alexander, VP of Strategy & Business Development for Pocket Radar. “When Jami mentioned their mission was to unite the fastpitch community through the collaboration of resources on and off the field, we knew they would be a perfect fit. With our mission to democratize world-class technology to everyone from the professional coach to the player who just joined their first travel ball team, this partnership is going to provide exclusive access to their growing lists of organizations, teams, coaches, families and
athletes.”
The Alliance Fastpitch is a national co-opetition of fastpitch teams and stakeholders working together to grow the sport. The leaders of the Alliance Fastpitch saw a need for change in the softball industry and believed the key to change was to merge efforts in athlete development and programming. The result is a united effort to put the athlete first and a regionalized play structure and community.

These regional Member Leagues provide a purpose of play to existing events with a structured point and ranking system, regional League championships, and a true national championship series, the Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series (AFCS). Berths in championship events must be earned, with every team starting at the same level each season. The Alliance has partnered with the top event providers (USA Softball, USSSA, Triple Crown Sports) to host these events throughout the country.
