Softball Story (How did you get started?) Tell us about you-
When I was seven years old, I watched my sister play softball. She was having so much fun that I started wanting to play. I would go to most of her practices and games and help them by cleaning up. One day when doing this, my sister’s Coach saw my long fingers and described them as ET fingers. He told my mom and me that I should be a pitcher as soon as possible since I had “pitcher’s fingers”. I was excited about it, so I started playing rec ball and have never stopped since.
Favorite Softball memory-
During a game, our team was down by three runs going into the bottom of the seventh inning. We all needed to win this game to keep advancing, so we were all really hopeful that we could make a comeback. Then, we tied it up. I was put back in on an international tiebreaker; the team scored a run, but in the next inning, we came up and got two runs to win the game. It was such an amazing team win.
Coaches Feedback-
I have had the blessing and privilege to have been Ash’s coach for the last two years. Her work ethic on the field and in the classroom is unmatched as a “workhorse” pitcher and a straight-A student. Ash’s positive attitude and commitment to being the best teammate is infectious and once she is on the mound, she is all business and never takes a pitch off. Her mental toughness is clearly evident every time she takes the field and she is a leader on the team. The leadership comes from leading by example, illustrated by her intense training and strong desire to get better and better with hard work and determination. Ash’s contribution to our team’s success cannot be understated and she has a heart of a warrior each time she puts on the Bengals uniform.
What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.
To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
