The Alliance Fastpitch proudly recognizes Francine Aguilar (2027) from the Pacific Coast Fastpitch League (PCFL) as Player of the Month for her outstanding achievements in December. Francine, a skilled catcher for Firecrackers Medina Martinez 16U, boasts impressive stats with a .500 batting average, a .929 slugging percentage, 5 RBIs, 3 singles, 3 doubles, and 1 home run.
Francine’s softball journey started in recreational ball at the age of 5, where she initially didn’t love the sport. The turning point came when she embraced the role of catcher during her second year of 10U. The COVID lockdown helped her realize her passion for the game. After things returned back to normal, she transitioned to travel ball, never looking back. Francine describes herself as a scrappy player. She plays with intensity and dedication, not just for herself but for her teammates and the team as a whole.
Reflecting on her favorite softball memories, Francine cherishes the numerous instances where she successfully tagged runners at home and threw out those attempting to steal. These moments represent the thrill and accomplishment that fuel her love for the game.
Aleena Garcia, a committed UCLA player and high school teammate, stands out as Francine’s favorite softball player. Inspired by Aleena’s achievements, Francine looks up to her both on and off the field.
Beyond softball, Francine finds joy in spending time with her family.
Current goals for Francine extend both on and off the field. Off the field, she aims to continue excelling in school, aspiring to pursue a career as an engineer in college. On the field, her goals center around continual progress as a catcher, working diligently to improve her skills every day and elevate her softball IQ. The Alliance Fastpitch congratulates Francine Aguilar on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her exceptional contributions to the sport and her dedication to personal and athletic growth.
What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
