PCFL teams qualify for the AFCS at pre-Memorial weekend events

This weekend PCFL teams took the field vying for their chance to earn their berth to the Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series (AFCS).
The Pre Memorial Day Tourney held in Avondale, AZ was a point event for PCFL and Alliance standings while the SSF Pre Memorial Day Tourney not only counted for points but also qualified teams for the AFCS.
SSF Pre Memorial Day Tourney (Qualifier and Points) Results:
12U, 14U, 16U, 18U
In 12U, Sorcerer Yoder dominated the field. Going 3-0 and outscoring opponents 34-0, Sorcerer Yoder secured their Tier I AFCS berth. Universal 2027 claimed the second Tier I berth while Athletics Mercado 2026 and NV Lightening punched their Tier II tickets.
In 14U Suncats Lopez and SJ Sting Afanador claimed Tier I berths to the AFCS. Tier II berths were earned by AASA Macias and Legends-E 4.
Over in the highly competitive 16U division the West Bay Warriors went 4-0, securing their Tier I ticket. The Warriors played steady, consistent softball en route to the tournament title. Claiming the second Tier I berth was Batbusters Brooks while the San Jose Sting – Rico and Batbusters Atkins punched their Tier II berths.
Last but certainly not least, the 18U division delivered a weekend of competitive and fun softball. The Sorcerer organization was well represented with Sorcerer Williams taking home the championship and the Tier I berth. Firecrackers Miller battled their way to a Tier I berth after falling into the losers’ bracket following game two versus Suncats Jimenez, 9-10. The two teams faced off again in their final game of the day but this time Firecrackers Millers prevailed (5-4) to claim the second Tier I berth of the tournament. Suncats Jimenez played a strong tournament as well and collected their Tier II berth for their efforts. Claiming the second Tier II and last berth of the day was San Jose Sting Gold – Gron.
