Tess Williamson named RMFL Spotlight Player of the Month for August

The Rocky Mountain Fastpitch League (RMFL) is excited to spotlight Tess Williamson as the August Spotlight Player of the Month. Williamson is a catcher and third baseman for Triple Crown 18A.
In addition to Williamson being a baller on the field and an incredible young lady, she has overcome so many obstacles that would limit the average human. After a car accident that resulted in the loss of her father and severe injuries she fought her way back to health and returned to the field after 8 short weeks. She was recently awarded the opportunity to attend the MLB/ USA Softball Breakthrough Series Camp in Oklahoma City where she trained with USA Softball Players and Olympians.
Softball story (How did you get started)(about you) –
I started playing softball when I was 8 years old, I fell in love with the sport as soon as I started. I joined my first club team when I was 11 and played with NT Freeze till I was 13. During my first club season I became a catcher, and have loved it since that day. Being a catcher brings different challenges which I love and it brings a lot of extra work and makes me push myself. When I was 12 I was involved in a car accident that had change my life as well as my families. I had a stage 3 brain injury, broken jaw, broken pelvis, broken femur, lacerated liver and fractured skull. I was in a coma for 11 days and had my jaw wired shut for 2 months I have 3 pins in my pelvis and a rod in my left Femur. After I was cleared to play softball I went back to finishing the season with my team, sliding into home my first game back. When I started working with Ashlie Rowley I became strong again and she helped me build my confidence back after being so low for so long. Ashlie has opened up so many doors and opportunities for me.
Favorite softball memory –
I have many memories that I love and I have so many great friends because of softball. Some of my favorites are traveling out of state for tournaments and finding cool things to do and hanging out with my teammates while we aren’t playing. My all time favorite memory is the MLB/USA Softball Breakthrough Series Camp, I had so much fun and learned so much. I got to meet Jocelyn Alo, Lauren Chamberlain, Bella Norton, Amber Flores, and Michelle Moultrie. My favorite thing from the whole experience was I got to hit front toss off of Jennie Finch!

League Leadership will review nominations to determine the League’s Spotlight Player of the Month.
