By jess
The Alliance Fastpitch is honored to recognize Emma Romeka (2025) from the Pacific Coast Fastpitch League (PCFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable October performance. Emma is a right-handed pitcher and third baseman for the OC Batbusters Romeka. Emma recorded 14 strikeouts in her 3-0 record with a WHIP of 1.25. At bat, she had a .550 average with an awesome 13 runs batted in, 3 doubles, and 1 homerun.
Emma Romeka, a softball enthusiast with a deep love for the game, finds the essence of her fondest life memories intertwined with the sport and the enduring connections formed with her teammates. A remarkable aspect of her journey is the enduring bond with the core group of girls on her team, a tight-knit group that has been together since 10U. The friendship extends even further, with her catcher having been a steadfast presence since 8U All Stars.
Among the cherished memories, Emma holds a special place for her team’s annual trip to Colorado. The team’s close-knit dynamics are on full display as they lodge together, creating an atmosphere of shared experiences and friendship. Another quirky and unforgettable memory is from an overnight tournament in Arizona, where the championship game took place in the wee hours, resulting in a deliriously memorable experience and the ultimate prize – a championship ring photo.
Emma draws inspiration from two softball players who have left a lasting impact on her. Monica Abbott’s influence became particularly significant during the challenging period of Covid shutdowns, as Emma and her teammates had the opportunity to attend a Team USA event and work with her just before the world changed. Jordy Bahl, another favorite player, resonates with Emma not only for her prowess on the mound but also for her courage in making decisions that align with her values and priorities.
While softball is undeniably a central part of Emma’s life, she also finds joy in activities outside the diamond. A lover of the beach, she relishes spending time in La Jolla with friends during the summer or enjoying a cozy bonfire in the winter. Additionally, her involvement in ASB at high school keeps her engaged in various school events, adding a diverse dimension to her extracurricular pursuits.
Looking ahead, Emma’s focus for the year revolves around recruiting and skill refinement as she is actively working towards showcasing her abilities. Balancing her ambitions on and off the field, Emma is navigating the challenges of junior year academically, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a high GPA and honoring her commitments and responsibilities.
In Emma Romeka, we witness not just a skilled athlete but a young woman dedicated to her sport, her team, and her academic pursuits, creating a harmonious balance that reflects her passion for excellence both on and off the softball field.
What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
