The Alliance Fastpitch is honored to recognize Olivia Garrett (2025) from the Southeastern Fastpitch League (SEFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable October performance. Garrett is a pitcher and third baseman for the Mississippi Bombers 16u Gold/ Knight. This month, Olivia had an outstanding pitching performance, with a stellar 39 strikeouts over a 4-1 record with a 0.93 WHIP. She also batted .364 with 6 singles. 

Olivia Garrett, a versatile and passionate athlete, discovered her love for sports at a young age, initially drawn to a variety of activities. However, it was softball that captured her heart, leading her to build lasting connections and glean invaluable life lessons along the way. Olivia’s journey in softball has been marked by a profound sense of camaraderie and personal growth.

One of Olivia’s most cherished memories is the triumphant moment of clinching the 3A state championship in 2021—a historic feat for Booneville. This groundbreaking achievement not only solidified their place in softball history but also put Booneville on the map as a formidable force in the sport. The victory was not a one-time occurrence, as Olivia proudly notes subsequent championships, affirming their continued dominance in the softball realm.

When asked about her favorite softball player, Olivia admires Montana Fouts, recognizing not only her reputation as a standout pitcher but also her unwavering display of faith both on and off the field. Fouts serves as an inspiration for Olivia, blending athletic excellence with a commitment to personal values.

Beyond the softball diamond, Olivia finds joy in the company of her competitive and dynamic group of friends. Their shared interests lead to exciting new pursuits, such as the unexpected adoption of pickleball during the summer. In addition to her athletic endeavors, Olivia takes on the role of a lifeguard, relishing sunny days spent by the pool.

Looking ahead, Olivia has set ambitious goals for herself, both spiritually and academically. Her foremost aim is to deepen her walk with the Lord each day, emphasizing personal and spiritual growth. On the softball field, she aspires to add another state championship to her list of accomplishments, further solidifying her team’s legacy. Academically, Olivia aims to become the valedictorian of her class, with aspirations to continue playing softball at the collegiate level. Through these endeavors, Olivia is dedicated to becoming the best version of herself, embracing the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
