Katie Taylor Named SEFL May Player of the Month

By The Alliance Team

Katie Taylor

The Southeastern Fastpitch League (SEFL) is excited to spotlight Katie Taylor in our Alliance Player Recognition Program as our May Player of the Month. For the remainder of the 2021 season, the SEFL will highlight Players of the Month from each different age group.

Katie is from Newnan, GA where she attends East Coweta High School. While playing at East Coweta High, Katie hit .396 with 8 home runs, 28 RBIs and 19 stolen bases. This performance led her to earning All-State honors last fall. This fall (2020), the senior was unstoppable finishing with a .468 batting average, 19 extra base hits and 10 steals and will very likely be a candidate for 7AAAAAAA Player of the Year.

She has been electric at the plate this year batting .381 in 21 AB’s with 4 HR’s, 9 RBI’s, and 3 SB’s, for the EC Bullets 18U Gold Schunte! Katie was a “true 5-tool talent for the Bullets last summer”, hitting 11 home runs and stealing a whopping 39 bases! She came up big, hitting the deciding home run in the Triple Crown Nationals championship game to give the Bullets the lead for good. Katie was being heavily pursued by multiple SEC, ACC and Big 10 schools before committing to the Tennessee Vols in November of 2019. She was ranked 24th in Extra Inning Top 100.

Congratulations to Katie Taylor from the EC Bullets 18U Gold Schnute for being recognized as the March SEFL Player of the Month!

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
