Softball Story (How did you get started? Tell us about you-
I started playing softball when I was 5, I played at New Stanton Rec. I got interested in softball through my brother because he was always playing baseball and I went to all his tournaments. I started messing around pitching with my cousin and realized that’s what I wanted to do.
Who is your favorite softball player?
Montana Fouts
Favorite Softball memory-
Definitely winning Ocean City Nationals in 2020. It will always be one of my favorite memories.
What do you like to do outside of softball?
Usually when I’m not at softball I’m taking a nap or sleeping.
What are some of your current goals – both on and off the field? (Softball, school, other athletics, related, etc. all welcomed!) Going D1 for softball has always been a goal of mine. I also want to maintain my grades and keep up a high GPA.
Coaches Feedback-
“Riley is an extremely hard-working player and works tirelessly to perfect her craft of pitching. As a pitcher she has a bulldog mentality and not too much phases her. She has pinpoint accuracy with her Fastball and tight spin on her movement pitches, she has perfected her change up and this has done great thing for her. Riley has “interest” from several Division I programs as of now and we look forward to September 1st when she can really start developing relationships with different schools and their coaching staffs. Riley is a true #1, who wants the ball all the time and especially in those “BIG” game moments. She is slated to be the starting pitcher for her HS, Hempfield a 6A school in Western, PA with great softball history, she also started for them as a freshman last year but got hurt during playoffs. Riley Miller is a name you will want to follow as her future in the sport is going to be a great one. “ – Richele Hall (Team Pennsylvania Fastpitch)
What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a deserving player from their age division who exemplifies commitment to the sport and those who excel off the field. League Leadership will review nominations to determine the League’s Spotlight Player of the Month.
