Erin Closser, a dedicated softball player with a profound journey in the sport, initially embarked on her softball adventure to follow in her mother’s footsteps, who had played in college. While her initial inspiration was rooted in familial admiration, Erin’s connection to softball evolved over time. It transformed into a personal journey, with the sport serving as a source of inspiration that has made her a better person and a leader, both on and off the field.

Softball, for Erin, is not just a game; it’s a teacher of life lessons. Through the highs and lows of hard work, rejection, perseverance, and mental toughness, Erin has discovered the kind of person and player she aspires to be. Grateful for the opportunities softball has provided, she acknowledges the profound impact it has had on shaping her character.

One of Erin’s most cherished softball memories involves a 12-inning game with her current team. Despite the final score being a 0-1 loss, the experience left an indelible mark on her. She witnessed the true essence of the sport – the tenacity, incredible plays, and unyielding spirit that brought her team so far. It was a testament to the resilience and determination that define the heart of softball.

Erin draws inspiration from players like Joclyn Alo, recognizing the qualities that make them exceptional in the sport. Beyond softball, Erin leads a dynamic and active life. She participates in track and field, excelling in shot put and discus, and has served as the section leader for her high school’s drumline for the past two years. Engaging in various organizations like NHS and K.E.Y Club, Erin actively contributes to her community through volunteering.

Setting ambitious goals, Erin aims to consistently give 100% in her softball endeavors, adapting her effort level to the circumstances. In academics, she strives to maintain a high GPA, excel in AP exams, and college course exams. Looking beyond high school, Erin envisions pursuing a degree in biochemistry, driven by a desire to contribute to the world through her knowledge and innovative ideas.

Erin Closser exemplifies not only a skilled softball player but also a well-rounded individual with a commitment to personal growth, leadership, and making a positive impact in both the athletic and academic spheres of her life.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
