The Northwest Fastpitch League is excited to announce the NWFL’s November Junior Player of the Month: Maleah Sawyers!

Sawyers is a 2027 graduate competing on Ai Bandits Taegan Takayoshi and Kelsey Breer 14U from Port Orchard, WA. In November, Sawyers hit .588 with five RBIs.

COACHES FEEDBACK:
Maleah is quiet but an impactful member of our team.  In November, her offense exploded and she had quality at bat after quality at bat. She has a consistent and competitive approach at the plate. She sees the ball extremely well and is always ready to hit.  She is a reliable presence in the infield.  We are very proud and think she’s very deserving of this honor and look forward to seeing her continue to perform into the spring.

MEET MALEAH:
Q: Can you share a little bit about your softball story?
Sawyers: My name is Maleah and I am thirteen years old. I have played softball since I was 5 years old. I started out playing in little league and decided I loved it so much that I started select ball when I was 8. I love the game of softball and the bond I get to have with my teammates on and off the field. I love getting to grow and get better at this sport and hope to play in college.

Q: What is your favorite softball memory?
Sawyers: I have a lot of memories playing softball but one of my favorites is when I hit two homeruns in the same game. I will also never forget my first time getting to fly to a tournament!

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
