COACHES FEEDBACK:
Sammi “K” is a standout student-athlete who exemplifies the term “Warrior”. Her highly competitive nature along with work ethic have led her to success both as a pitcher and a team leader in hitting. Sammi is a true spinner with good velocity and strong command of all her pitches. Her movement along with consistently hitting her locations makes her a force in the circle. On the other side of the ball, Sammi has kept her batting average right around .500 for the fall season. Her above-average speed along with her high softball IQ also makes her a weapon on the bases. Sammi brings a high level of confidence to the field. She is loved by her teammates and a blessing to coach…… Coach Rob
MEET SAMANTHA:
Q: Can you share a little bit about your softball story?
Korte: I used to sit out in my backyard watching my brother practice baseball for hours. Once I was old enough, I finally joined my local rec league, PYL, and got to play myself. This sport became my life for the next 9 years. It feels great to be a part of a team and collectively all work towards the same goal. I love the atmosphere on and off the field, especially when the whole team clicks like a family.
Q: What is your favorite softball memory?
Korte: My favorite softball memory was the weekend of a Simi-valley tournament in 10u. Every night was full of laughter and running around the hotel, and every day was full of cheering, dill pickle seeds, and sunscreen. After all the games were over, we sprayed apple cider all over each other and went out for ice cream soaking wet. That was my favorite weekend as a kid.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.
To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
