AFCS to add Open Division this Summer

March, 2021 — The Alliance Fastpitch is excited to announce we have added an open division to the Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series (AFCS) across all age divisions, 10U to 18U. The AFCS Open will operate under the same event format as the Tier I and Tier II AFCS and is open to all League teams who do not qualify for Tier I or Tier II. The decision to add an Open Division to the AFCS was driven by the team registrations across the country and their desire to participate in a culminating League Championship event. Tier I and Tier II berths will still be earned through League Championship play, however, the AFCS Open division will be open registration for League teams.

The Alliance Fastpitch worked with our existing event partners to add an Open Division in each age division. The 10U and 12U ages will have two Open divisions, a west division hosted by Triple Crown and an east division hosted by Team1 in Bentonville, AR. USSSA will host the 14U AFCS Open in Clearwater, FL at the Eddie C. Moore Complex. USA Softball will host the 16U and 18U AFCS Open in Broken Arrow, OK.

How to Enter the AFCS Open:

Registration is open for the AFCS Open division. Teams must be registered with their Member League and the Alliance Fastpitch to compete in the AFCS Open. If a team registers for the Open Division and then earns a Tier I or Tier II berth this Spring or Summer, then they would contact their League Administrator informing them of the teams decision to accept their berth and forge the Open Division.
