Softball Story (How did you get started?) – Tell us about you:
I am 14 years old and this will be my 5th year of travel softball.  I started out in T ball and then played in a Rec league before joining a travel ball team.  I am a utility player but 2nd base has always had a special place in my heart.  I am a freshman in high school and one of my goals is to play softball at a D1 college.  I do not have a specific college selected but I do want to go somewhere warmer than Washington State.  I am planning a career in the medical field which has always been my dream job.

Softball has been a big part of my life.  I think my biggest takeaway from my softball career is the friendships I have made.  My softball sisters are always there for me.  From TikTok dances to inside jokes, dugout cheers, taking funny photos of our coach, making some ESPN highlight-worthy plays, and the thrill when a teammate hits a home run, I don’t think anything gets better than the memories we have made.  No matter how bad life gets, I have always had a roster full of best friends.

Favorite Softball memory:
My favorite softball memory has got to be my team’s trip to San Diego last October.  All of my teammates stayed in a huge Air BnB. It had a pool, hot tub, huge bedrooms, and a game room; it was amazing.  We played a lot of scrimmages before the tournament and had the opportunity to play some really good teams.  Hitting a home run in San Diego was definitely one of my softball highlights.  During our free time in San Diego, we were able to go to the beach and had some really good bonding time.  The best part of the trip was everyone hung out together and we were like one big family.  To top off the trip, we were able to see our bestie, Tony Medina at one of his clinics.

Coaches Feedback:
Brooklynn is affectionately known as “B” on the team. She is a selfless player willing to step up to any position her team needs her to play. Not only is she game smart, but she’s also a great student. She is one of the best on-the-field coaches that a coach could ask for. B is vocal and very good at instructing others on the field. She has a team player attitude with the knowledge and communication skills to help educate and demonstrate to younger players. Not only that, but she led the team in home runs and batting average last season. She has a game fortitude and smile that is infectious. She loves the game, and most importantly, she loves her team.

It has been so fun to watch B grow into the player she is today. B has the most supportive parents willing to provide opportunities and sacrifice for their two girls. Big things are coming for this kid in the future!

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
