The Pacific Coast Fastpitch League (PCFL) is excited to spotlight Brooklyn Lee as the June Co-Player of the Month. Lee is a catcher for Athletics Mercado Hovermale and committed to University of California San Diego.

In June, Lee posted a .585 batting average, 1.736 OPS and 1.122 slugging percentage. The 2023 had a fantastic month at the plate accumulating 15 RBIs with 12 singles, seven doubles and five home runs.

Softball Story (How did you get started?) Tell us about you-
I began playing softball at the age of 9 when my parents decided place me in the La Verne Rec Ball League. I started off wanting to be a pitcher but ended up falling in love with the position behind the plate. I rarely got playtime in the early stages of my softball development but began progressing more as I focused on establishing a firm knowledge of the basics and built upon it from there. I always faced issues when communication came into play and had only overcome this trepidation when I entered the Mercado organization. Here I was pushed to find a solution, as well as progress my command on the field as a catcher.

Favorite Softball memory-
My favorite softball memory was during the end of the Team 1 Elite Kansas City tournament when I was dog piled by my team after hitting in the winning run. Everyone that day had put all their effort into each of those games, and it was an earned win for all of us.

Coaches Feedback-
Brooklyn is a Coaches dream type Player. She had one of the best summers I have ever seen a player have. All while being a Great Team leader and Teammate.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
