The Heart of America Fastpitch League (HFL) is excited to spotlight Landry Cochran as the June Player of the Month.  Cochran is a centerfielder for Gametime Gold ’09.

In June, Cochran showed up at the dish with a batting average of .463, a .500 OBP and an impressive .585 slugging percentage.

Softball Story (How did you get started?  Tell us about you)-
I started playing travel ball when I was 5 years old when my dad and his friend decided to build a softball field in the backyard.  We found girls who wanted to play and within a few years we became one of the best teams in our area.  Most of the team stayed together for 10 years, we became family.

Favorite Softball memory-
The hotel stays, early mornings, late nights, finding lucky flowers and team dinners with my best friends will always be some of my favorite memories.

Coaches Feedback-
Landry Cochran has been one of my favorite players to coach. She works hard, extremely coachable, competitive and you can’t find a person that doesn’t enjoy being around her. Landry has quickly adapted to the level of competition we face throughout the year and comes off the season as one of the most reliable defensive players we have on the roster along with a consistent bat that we used in the 1 hole. Landry battled it out as one of the top hitters on our team for the season and I look for her to make even a bigger impact next year.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
