Softball Story (How did you get started? Tell us about you-

My softball career started back when I was 4 years old.  I started out playing t-ball with Redondo Beach Little League.  The following year, I moved to Redondo Sunset Softball where I played 6U through 12U.  I played on All-Star teams during each of my seasons with Redondo Sunset.  During the COVID shut-down, I continued to train with some of my All-Star teammates. In 2020, we formed an official travel team called South Bay Sabotage. Recently, we joined the USA Athletics Organization.  During my time in travel ball, my passion and love for the game has grown tremendously.  Not only do I love to play, but I love the relationships I have made with my teammates and coach, Josh Phillips. I have also enjoyed learning more about hitting from Deb Hartwig, my batting coach.  My goal for the future is to play softball at the collegiate level.

Favorite Softball memory-

There are so many memories I have during my time playing softball. From spending time with my teammates at out of town tournaments, to winning the championship rings, one of my favorite memories is from 12U when I hit my first homerun over a 220 foot fence.  I still have the homerun ball displayed in my room.

Coaches Feedback-

I have had the opportunity to coach Lauren for several years and she continues to improve at each level along the way.  She is a big, strong hitter that is able to drive balls the other way.  She’s confident at the plate and we can always count on her in pressure situations.  The fun part for me as her coach is that she could still be playing 14U, but is killing it in 16U….and is really just scratching the surface of how good she can be.  I’m sure you’ll be hearing more about her over the next few years.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
