Tell us a bit about your softball story! How’d you get started in the sport?

I started playing softball when I was 4 years old and my love for the game grew from that point on. I played other sports and did other activities but nothing compared to softball. I love being a pitcher. To me its fun and your right in the middle of the action. Softball has become a big part of my life. I’m thankful to play for an amazing organization, wonderful coaches, and great teammates.

What has been your favorite softball memory?

My Favorite Memory since playing travel softball would have to be winning my first Championship as a Corona Angel.

Who is your favorite softball player?

My Favorite Softball Player is Megan Faraimo. I love how she is a great pitcher and can hit when needed. There have been several games where she has pitched really good and then also helped her team with hitting. That’s something I strive to do.

What do you like to do outside of softball?

Outside of softball I like to draw, roller skate, and skateboard.

What are some of your current goals – both on and off the field? (Softball, school, other athletics, related, etc. all welcomed!)

My current softball goal is to get better everyday and increase my pitching speed this season to 60mph. At school my goal is to keep getting A’s and B’s.

Coach Feedback

Tell us a bit about your athlete? As a player, person, etc.

Samaya is tough, consistent, a great teammate! And an absolute beast in the circle! She’s a joy to coach!

Do you have a favorite memory or moment of this athlete?

Favorite moment this year of samaya, was her pitching the game to get us the berth to the 2023 national championships. She got hit pretty hard on the leg, she shed a few tears then got back up and finished her game!

Is there anything else you’d like to share, include, or that we should know?

I love being her coach!

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
