The Alliance Fastpitch is honored to recognize Jesse Nichols (2025) from the Rocky Mountain Fastpitch League (RMFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable October performance. Jesse is a third baseman and pitcher for the Firecrackers Gale 16U Gold. As a versatile player, Nichols batted .333 with 3 runs batted in alongside a 2-0 pitching record with 8 strikeouts and a 0.57 WHIP.

Jesse Nichols embarked on her softball journey at the age of 3, inspired by the influence of her older sister who played the sport. Fueled by a desire to emulate her sibling, Jesse found a particular fascination with pitching, a position that resonated deeply with her aspirations shaped by family ties.

The love for softball, for Jesse, extends beyond the thrill of the game; it’s rooted in her passion for competition on the field. Being able to embody this competitive spirit is what keeps her dedicated to the sport, driving her to excel and push boundaries.

A standout moment in Jesse’s softball journey unfolded last year when her high school team earned the opportunity to compete at the state level. This experience marked a pinnacle in her favorite softball memories, as she vividly recalls the intensity and camaraderie of being on the field with her teammates, fully immersed in the competitive atmosphere.

Valerie Cagle, a standout player at Clemson, holds the title of Jesse’s favorite softball player. Cagle’s example has become a source of inspiration, influencing Jesse’s approach as a skilled pitcher and hitter.

Outside the realm of softball, Jesse enjoys lifting weights and drawing during her off time. The creative aspect of her personality, she attributes to her mother, highlighting the influence of family not just in her athletic pursuits but also in her artistic endeavors.

On the field, Nichols sets her current goals on fostering strong bonds with all her teammates, recognizing the importance of teamwork and unity in achieving success. Off the field, she directs her focus toward academic excellence, aspiring to secure both athletic and academic scholarships through dedicated schoolwork.

As Jesse Nichols navigates the dual landscapes of softball and academics, her journey is shaped by familial influences, competitive drive, and a commitment to both athletic and personal growth.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
