Madelyn Doty Recognized as TFL Player of the Month for January

By: Georgia Kasperowicz

The Texas Fastpitch League (TFL) is excited to spotlight an athlete in the Alliance Player Recognition Program. Madelyn Doty has been recognized as the TFL’s Player of the Month for January based on her league performances this past Fall.

Madelyn Doty led her Texas Glory 2K26 team to the 12U TFL Juniors Fall Championship and was selected as the Championship MVP as she helped her team earn an AFCS Tier I berth. Doty pitched 10 of the team’s 16 innings, collecting two of her team’s three wins. 71% of her pitches were strikes, and she boasted a perfect 0.00 ERA. At the plate, the Grandview, Texas native hit .500.

“The first time Madi stepped on the field with us at age 9, she was a special talent,” said Texas Glory 2K26 Head Coach RJ Howerton. “Over the last 3 years, she has become the ace of our pitching staff and a steady producer in our offense. She leads with her actions, and her work ethic is unequaled. She has an unshakable determination and is always looking for new goals to crush.”

“When I was 3, I wanted my parents to buy me a tee, glove, and baseballs,” Doty said on how she got her start in softball. “We moved to Texas before I started first grade, and I started playing tee ball. During tee-ball All Stars, I was invited to try out for a machine pitch team, and that was the beginning of my select travel ball journey. I decided I wanted to learn how to pitch and was lucky enough to start lessons with Meagan Denny-White when I was 9. I have been going to her ever since, and she’s someone I look up to.”

When we asked Madelyn what her favorite softball memory was, she responded “meeting Jennie Finch at one of her camps! She is someone I look up to as she has accomplished so much, and her achievements make me strive to accomplish my goals.”

Congratulations to Madelyn Doty from the 12U Texas Glory 2K26 for being recognized as the TFL’s Player of the Month for January. The Texas Fastpitch League will continue to recognize Players of the Month across all age divisions this season. To be eligible for a Player of the Month honor, teams must score their games with AGL so their stats can be recorded and pulled in our monthly reports.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Starting this Spring, each League will name a Player of the Month for different age divisions.

Registered Alliance Fastpitch players will be placed in a pool based on verified stats from AthletesGoLive (AGL). AthletesGoLive(AGL) will run monthly reports and submit to the player selection committee for each League.  Additionally, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches will have the opportunity to submit a player for consideration. Committee members will review verified stats and consider coach feedback to name League Players of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so her stats are considered in the monthly reports.
