University of Oregon

I chose the University of Oregon because of the culture and atmosphere there. When I went on my first visit there, I really fell in love with the campus and the state itself because it reminded me a lot of my family’s hometown, Buffalo, New York. It felt like a home away from home, and I knew I could compete at the highest level there. The facilities, coaches, and players are top notch, and I knew we could win a national championship there.

I’ve always watched a lot of baseball when I was growing up, so I picked up on the little motions and things they would do on the field or up to bat. I am a huge yankees fan, so I used to watch a lot of Derek Jeter. A current player I like to model my game after would be Mookie betts. He just plays the game with so much passion and heart. He has all the intangibles. I love watching him play.

My parents were both born in Buffalo, New York, but they met out in Las Vegas. My dad was a college swimmer, and my mom played college softball at Buffalo State college. My brother is a really talented BMX biker/rider.

My legacy in softball is to be remembered as someone who always shows heart and passion for everything I do. I want to be remembered as the player in softball who demonstrated the most energy but also talent and skill from all my hard work. I want to show young kids that when you can slow the game down and just have fun it will be the best times of your life.

Ever since I was in 8th grade, I have traveled to play with the Corona Angels with Coach Marty Tyson. I live in Henderson, Nevada, and I wanted to compete at a higher level, so my family and I decided that in order to get better I needed to play with the best. Every Friday, we would and still travel down the I-15 South to make hitting lessons at night. Then on Saturday and Sunday, I either get work in with a practice or I play games. Then I travel on the I-15 North back home to Vegas. It’s about a 3 and a half hour road trip, but it’s completely worth it. I also tore my ACL and meniscus my freshman year of high school playing flag football. I was really excited to play flag football, but I ended up tearing it the first 5 minutes of my first varsity high school game. From there, I had my surgery and rehabbed for the next 7 months in order to make it back before Nationals where our 14u team won the National Championship. It was quite the recovery, but it was great to have such a fun comeback story.
