My dad, aunt & grandpa – they have always been my role models for softball. They have been teaching me the game since I could hold a bat.

My grandfather Joe Lis Sr played for the Phillies, Mariners, & Twins in the 70s. My dad Joe Lis Jr, played Triple A baseball for Toronto & Cleveland. My Aunt Becky Lis is a hall of fame player at SIU and still holds some records there. My family has ran a baseball & softball instructional school for over 30 years in Evansville.

Don’t let people’s first impression of you be their last. Make them take notice of you by continually working harder and striving to be the best you can be.

When I was in preschool – every Friday my papa Joe would have breakfast with me then take me to his baseball school so I could hit off the tee – it was always something i looked forward to and would get mad if we had to miss it. I would also beg my dad to let me hit off the pitching machines when I was just 4 years old.
