I fell in love with the school all around; the coaching staff, the people, and the campus was everything I was looking for. Ohio State has a great speech and hearing science program which is what I want to major in, and they are all about their sports and traditions; it’s something I wanted to be a part of the minute I stepped on campus.
Mookie Betts. I like that he’s not a very big player but he plays big and he works hard. I try and model that mentality all the time when I step on the field
I grew up watching my brother play baseball and he was such an amazing catcher. That’s what made me want to play this game and be a catcher; I wanted to be just like him. He no longer plays, but he’s my BIGGEST supporter now. I love seeing him in the stands watching me play
I want aspiring softball players to be able to look at me and see that I am successful in this game even though I’m not a very big/tall player like most softball players. I want to prove that as long as you play hard, play big, and give this game everything you have, you can follow your biggest dreams
When I was younger I was told I wouldn’t be a catcher because of my size and that my arm wasn’t good enough. So I dreamed of proving that statement wrong. I worked real hard and trained weekly with my catching coaches Jen Schro and Kellsi Kloss to be the best catcher I could be for my team. I proved to myself that I can literally do anything I put my mind to if I really want something. I know it sounds cliche, but I truly I’m thankful for being told I couldn’t do something. It made me the player I am today
