Her May stats include a. 688 batting average, a 0.762 OBP, 8 singles,2 doubles, 5 RBIs, and 3 stolen bases.
Brooklyn Mangus’s softball journey begins at the age of 6 when a passion for the game takes root. Initially starting as a shortstop, her love for hitting quickly becomes clear. By the age of 10, Brooklyn’s path takes a new direction when she finds a mentor in Kennedy Crites. Inspired by Kennedy’s example, Brooklyn transitions to the catcher position, a move that defines her style of play. Every time she steps onto the field, the rush of competition fuels her excitement, and she treasures the camaraderie she shares with her teammates, as well as the lasting friendships they’ve built together.
One of Brooklyn’s most cherished memories in softball revolves around a pivotal tournament. Her team faces a tough start, losing their first bracket game. Despite the setback, they rally together with unwavering determination, winning 8 consecutive games, including the championship. Brooklyn catches all 8 games, playing a key role in their success. The resilience and unity displayed by her team leave an indelible mark on her heart.
Brooklyn looks up to her mentor Kennedy Crites as her favorite player, but outside of softball, she finds joy in other sports like basketball and track. Her competitive spirit extends beyond the diamond, showcasing her versatile athletic abilities.
As for her current goals, Brooklyn aims to hit her first out-of-the-park home run, make her mark on the caught stealing leaderboard, and secure a spot on the Texas Tech college softball team. She’s also working hard to enter the National Junior Honor Society, demonstrating her commitment to both academic and athletic excellence. The Alliance Fastpitch commends Brooklyn Mangus on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.
What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
