Rylee Black Named Alliance Fastpitch National Pitcher of the Month for May

The Alliance Fastpitch has chosen to name Rylee Black (2029) as the May 2025 National Pitcher of the Month. Black competes in the CFL at the 14U division. In May, Black dominated in the circle with 52 strikeouts in 29 innings pitched. Allowing a mere 11 hits, Black earned an elite 0.48 ERA.
Black began playing softball at six years old, and she stepped on the mound for the first time at nine. Black’s athleticism allowed her to take on both pitching and catching duties for two years, helping her develop a well-rounded view of the game.
Black continues to make waves for the Oklahoma Athletics 2010-Madden, with two unforgettable moments topping her list: tossing a perfect game in 2024 and fanning 20 batters in spring 2025.
When it comes to inspiration on the mound, Black enjoys watching Nijaree Canady, the dominant Texas Tech pitcher and Alliance Softball alum who continues to raise the bar. Off the field, Black fills her time by playing basketball, going to church and hanging out with friends.
Black currently aims to hit a pitching velocity of 67 mph before the end of the year. Off the field, Black is determined to maintain straight A’s.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
