The culture they have there is amazing. It feels like one big family and that is something I look for in every team. It also helps a lot that it’s in my home state. But it just felt super special when I went on my visit there and I knew it was my future home.

I want my legacy to inspire younger girls not to give up. To buy into what your coaches are telling you and continue to work hard.

One time during a Team 1 tournament 2 summers ago I was playing first base and a slapper laid down a bunt. Our catcher fielded it and before she heard the umpire call it foul she threw it and the runner was in the baseline with the ball coming straight at her back. So I, being the nice person that I am, started saying “watch out” and she indeed did not hear me. The ball hit off her shoulder and went straight into my face. I got up with blood all over me, then ended up having to go to the ER and get 7 stitches in my eyebrow, after thar had to go back and play another game. Thank GOODNESS the games got rained out the next day because I woke up with my eye being the size of a golf ball and swollen shut. So after that if the ball was even close to the runner I have hit the ground fearing for my life.
