The Atlantic Coast Fastpitch League (ACFL) is excited to spotlight Emily King as the October Junior player of the month. King is a 2026 on Williamsburg Starz Gold National Bunn.

King cleaned up well this October in the circle and at the dish. She. Pitched. A total of 28 innings with 59 Ks. And a. 0.74 ERA. On offense King posted a .556 batting average with one double, one triple and a total of 10 hits.

“Emily (aka Slim) has been dominant for us in the circle the entire fall season,” said coach Tom Bunn. “Slim has a very composed, calm demeanor for a kid her age and may not intimidate opposing batters with her size or pure velocity quite yet. However, she misses bats and bats and bats with her movement and pitch execution. She has 114 K’s in 58 innings this fall while only allowing 23 hits during that time. She is a great teammate who is willing to contribute in any way she can. Slim is an awesome kid that we are lucky to have in our organization and I am lucky to be able to coach. This award is well deserved.”

Emily is a multisport athlete, who began pitching at 7 years old. She started playing travel softball at 9 years old. Emily is a back-to-back dixie youth state champion, and has a strong resume of wins in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas.

Her fondest softball memory came at the district level as an 11-year-old. She threw a no hitter, with 15 strikeouts in the semifinals, followed by a perfect game in the championship game to lead the team to a second straight State Championship. A second memory that stands out is back-to-back performances against two strong Mojo teams this fall, allowing 0 runs, and at one point striking out 9 in a row. Emily looks forward to working hard to continue to progress, in pursuit of being the best Emily she can be.

From all of us at the Alliance and the ACFL, congratulations to Emily King for her achievements.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
