I chose Oregon because growing up watching softball I used to love watching Gwen Svekis who played for the ducks as a catcher. From that moment Oregon was one of favorite schools ever since then I decided I wanted to be a duck.
Growing up my siblings and I were always involved in sports from softball, baseball, soccer and football. My father is also involved in our community coaching football. One thing in common as a family is we are all entertainers. My dad is a musician, My mom was a hula and Tahitian dancer. My sister is a Polynesian dancer performing at shows in Hawaii. My brother is a Polynesian drummer and I perform as a Tahitian and hula dancer as well.
I want my legacy To be known as one of the best to play the game.
I would like to share my journey. Started playing 11 years old. I used to love watching softball on YouTube and came across the ducks team and I used to Always watch Gwen Svetks play. She was a catcher as well. That inspired me to want to play that position and I wanted to become a Duck. My love for the game grew. I got the opportunity to play on Firecrackers Brashear team. Played in multiple tournaments that My parents flew me out weekends at a time to play. Being from Hawaii that wasn’t easy & not much opportunities so we made the sacrifice. But The sacrifices payed off when I played at the zoom into June. The Oregon coaches was there and that was it and when The opportunity came my way. I knew right there my dream has finally come true. Went on my official visit and I love Eugene, the Campus, the Coaches & the players and now I can’t wait to be a Duck and attend the University of Oregon this fall.
