The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Cali Corbin (2033) from the TFL as National Player of the Month for her remarkable play in September 2024 Cali Corbin, a versatile player Texas Bombers Gold 2k14, excels in multiple positions—shortstop and pitcher. Her September stats include a .333 batting average, a .459 OBP, 1 homerun, 1 triple, 1 double, 7 singles, 8 RBIs, and 5 stolen bases. Through 37 innings pitched, she had 40 strikeouts and a 2.65 ERA.

Cali Corbin’s softball journey begins at the age of four, though she tries nearly every sport along the way. However, softball always holds a special place in her heart, and pitching quickly becomes her favorite part of the game. She loves controlling the action on the field, and while she can’t quite explain why the sport inspires her so much, it’s clear that the competition drives her to continually push herself to improve. Her parents are the ones who first inspire her to take up the game, and since then, it becomes a central part of her life.

A cherished memory for Cali is the moment she records her first strikeout with her changeup. After much training and hard work, that strikeout marks a milestone that stays with her forever. Another unforgettable experience comes from a game her team loses 3-2 to a walk-off hit. Despite the loss, the intensity and excitement of the game make it one of the most fun moments she’s ever had on the field.

Cali’s favorite player is #17 Teagan Kavan, a fellow pitcher. Cali admires how Kavan pitches, even mimicking her style on the mound. Watching Teagan’s success inspires Cali to keep pushing herself and improving her own game. Her favorite team is Texas, and she also admires Kavan’s style off the field, calling her “pretty.” Outside of softball, Cali enjoys staying active in many ways. She loves playing basketball, riding her bike, and spending time outdoors with her brother and sister. Basketball is especially fun for her, and she enjoys hanging out with friends, coming up with new games to play.

Cali sets big goals for herself, both on and off the field. On the mound, she aims to reach a pitching speed of 51 mph before turning 10. She also sets a goal to achieve a batting average over .350 in the upcoming season. Academically, Cali is determined to earn all A’s, master both of her STAAR tests, and collect more awards than she did the previous year. Looking to the future, Cali dreams of becoming a professional softball player, a softball coach, and a teacher—just like her mom. The Alliance Fastpitch commends Cali Corbin on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
